Osmo WR Base Coat is ready to use, please do not thin. Stir well before use. Clean old microporous stains thoroughly. Old paints and lacquers must be completely removed. As a general rule, wear a dust mask during sanding works. Reseal container after use. Do not allow this product to reach aquatic environments, the ground or the sewer system.
Protect environment (e.g. soil, plants, aquatic environment) from splashes of Osmo WR Base Coat 4001.
Do not apply in damp conditions or if rain is imminent.
Method of Application
Apply by (brush or roller) spreading out thinly and evenly along wood texture.
Number of coats required: 2-3, depending on wood species and surface characteristics.
Coat the clean, dry and frost-free wood generously – if possible on all sides.
The product should be applied evenly in order to get best results.
Processing temperature: 10 – 30°C.
Note
Osmo WR Base Coat is not to be used alone, instead it is a clear impregnation to protect wood against rot, blue stain and insect attack.
Compatible with all common types of glue and putty (except silicone products). We recommend galvanized, anti-corrosive fasteners.
To guarantee full protection (against UV rays) and the long-lasting beauty of wood, a top coat (e.g. with One Coat Only HSPlus, Natural Oil Woodstain, Country Colour, Opaque White Gloss or UV-Protection-Oil) is required after the impregnation has completely dried.
If the coloured surface should have an external surface protection (film protection), we recommend for non-biocidal wood finishes (One Coat Only HSPlus and Country Colour) a top coat with UV-Protection-Oil Extra.*
*Do not coat white finished surfaces with UV-Protection-Oil Extra.
Using power washers will severely decrease the coverage of the finish and general or multi-purpose cleaners will increase the frequency of maintenance and recoating.
Care
Regular Cleaning: Damp cleaning with Osmo Decking Cleaner using Osmo Decking Cleaning Brush.
Occasional Maintenance: If necessary, intensive cleaning and refreshing using Osmo Wood Reviver Power Gel or Osmo Gard Clean.
